VERSUS: fifteen dinosaurs walk into the Bounce Bowl
Versus mode has a full roster now: fifteen dinosaur fighters, each with a whole move set, sixteen arenas and up to four players.
LAAAADIES AND GENTLE-DINOS! Welcome to the BOUNCE BOWL, the only game show where the contestants float, the arena spins and nobody gets hurt. Get knocked out? You bounce right back in. Every game ends, kid. That's what the START button's for.

The fifteen
Versus started life as fifteen copies of the jetpack dino. Not anymore. Every fighter has their own moves, their own animations and their own idea of a good time:
- Sprout, the hero: a bit of everything, a fireball and a laser.
- Kid Claw, a featherweight raptor boxer who never stops swinging.
- Big Hug Thera, a wrestling champ. The hugs are not optional.
- Doc Dilo throws his venom tonic at you. But wait, there's MORE!
- Hank Hi-Rise, a skyscraper riveter with a crane for a neck.
- Hornsby gives a hundred and TEN percent, then a touchdown.
- ...plus The Great Noggin, Sir Spike, Knox, Pterry, Spinodini, Toot Sweet, Pip & Bolt, El Carno and one very grumpy Grandpa Rex.
Nine are ready from the start. The other six turn up later with a big CHALLENGER APPROACHING! Beat them and they join the roster.
How it fights
Nobody stands on anything, so every attack is an aerial. Hits add damage %, and the higher it climbs, the further you fly. Shields beat attacks, grabs beat shields, attacks beat grabs, and a good dodge beats everything. Land hits back to back before the other dino can act and the HUD calls it a TRUE combo.
Play one-on-one or a four-way free-for-all, against friends on one keyboard and some gamepads, or against CPUs from PUSHOVER all the way up to MERCILESS. There are items (giant, tiny, magnet, triple shot...), sixteen arenas with their own hazards, and a Final Smash for when your meter is full.
Pick VERSUS from the menu after you press PLAY. Mind the bumpers. I put them there for a reason.
